Larry attended Wayne County Community College, where he earned a Liberal Arts degree in Humanities, and later graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. He built a solid career as an Assignment Desk Editor and Writer for WXYZ-TV 7 News Detroit, WJRT-TV 12 News in Flint, and WDIV-TV News 4 in Downtown Detroit. His ability to observe, analyze, and communicate powerful stories made him a respected name in the media industry.
Beyond journalism, Larry stepped into education and community work. He taught grades 4 through 6 at George Washington Carver Academy and served as the MEAP Assistant Coordinator, guiding students toward a better future. His work as a Project Manager for Detroit Parent Network allowed him to make an impact on families and children, ensuring they had the resources and support to build brighter futures.
However, through all these roles, one thing remained constant—Larry’s love for storytelling. From childhood, he found joy in writing, turning his thoughts and experiences into short stories and plays. His passion for literature deepened while working at the Poetry Research Center in Detroit, where he read and evaluated countless stories and poems. Seeing the power of words firsthand, he knew that one day, he would share his own story with the world.
